Chamber of Commerce Take the Hampton Tour

The Wellingborough Chamber has launched a new scheme to get out and visit members by taking Executive Committee meetings on the road.

Members of the Committee held the July meeting at Hampton Steel Ltd’s board room as part of the new initiative instead of their usual venue.

Before the monthly meeting took place on Tuesday, July 4, Committee members were given a tour of the company’s factory based in Sanders Road, Finedon Road Industrial Estate, by Managing Director,  Mark Johnson and Sales Director, Peter Matten.

The company is one of the UK's premier manufacturers of wire fencing and related products, processing enough wire every year to circle the world four times!

Chamber President Rob Hart said: “The visit gave us a fascinating insight into the processes involved in creating high-quality products. We also learned about how the company has innovated to adapt to changing demands to create pioneering products.”

“As both a voice and representative of the business community in Wellingborough, we were proud to see first-hand a major success story in action.”

The company has a strong network of customers both in the UK and overseas ensuring continued availability of quality wire fencing products supported by excellent customer service and competitive prices.

Hampton produce their steel wire fencing products for a variety of sectors including that for agriculture, horse and foal, zoos and animal parks, forestry, transport, security, sport and leisure. Their stronger, safer and more versatile Hampton NET™ Fencing was a European first and manufactured only by Hampton’s on state of the art equipment at their Wellingborough factory. Hampton NET™ pushes the boundaries in terms of wire fence manufacturing technology.

Hampton Steel Ltd won the Manufacturing Business of the Year category in the Chamber’s inaugural Business Awards staged in October last year.
